Shrimp & goby divorce

I bought a goby and a pistol shrimp about a month ago. Acclimated them together and they paired up immediately. They stayed together under a rock for about 2.5 weeks and then the goby packed up his stuff and moved out to the other side of the tank. Now both the shrimp and goby rarely come out of their respective places.

I have a bonded pair of gobies that did the same thing, then got back together then split up.... But honestly it might make them more interesting then when they just sat together all day.
