At night I like to use a flashlight to see what's going on in my tank after dark, and tonight I was surprised to see thousands of tiny white specs drifting around in the current. I managed to capture and look at one under my microscope. It appears to be some sort of tiny shrimp. Take a look at this video and let me know if you can ID it. The video starts out at 40x magnification, then I switched to 200x. The specimen is about 2mm in length.

I currently have two skunk cleaner shrimp and a single pistol shrimp. I'm wondering if these could be baby cleaner shrimp?

I'm not able to see the video. Its very possible your shrimp spawned or released the eggs.

Huh, not sure why you can't see the video. It appears fine for me on my laptop and phone. Here's a screen capture of it:

So I am having the same experience tonight but I only have one cleaner shrimp and one fire shrimp. I am wondering if it could be a mysis shrimp spawn or something?

possible a cross between the two

I lifted one of the liverocks on sand to kill that bloody aiptasia and as soon as I dipped the rock tiny shrimps came out! Freaking I saved some using a kitchen foam net. Then realized they were skunk babies! There were 2 sizes, one group 3mm and the other 5 mm. Red bands are showing.

I didn’t do anything special and I heard rearing them was super hard.?they are settled in my opinion, not lavae. i think I might up with tank bred shrimp! Or maybe they get eaten over time?
