Shrimp help

White specks on shrimp help? I had a 6 line wrasse die of a fluke parasite and i did not QT. The fish lasted 4 days and died. I treated my tank for two weeks with polyp lab reef safe medic water conditioner. I stopped treating a week ago. Could this have gotten on my shrimp? The two clowns i have in the tank are great with no issues that i can see.

How is shrimp behaving?


Most likely your tank still has whatever parasites the wrasse carried.

Ive never used this product but the description is interesting,”reef safe oxidizing agent” in powder form. Sounds like reef branded oxyclean.

If the shrimp will let you catch it, could do a sample check. Put in a small jar and lightly turkey baste it see if the spots come off into the jar.

Shrimp are not affected by parasites. The reproductive stage (tomonts) can encyst upon the shell. It would not be visible to the naked eye.

Those white spots are natural to fire shrimp. All three of mine have them.

I will try that thanks! The shrimp seems okay to me. Yes it’s a salt that i put in twice a day.
