Will try, he very rarely comes out. But, I'll stalk him out for a bit. He's quite dull as well almost looks like a 'generic' shrimp. The other thing I'd mention is his antennae are extremely long, probably 2x size of my fire shrimp.

Its a camel shrimp 100% I had one of those. Harmless and weird! They get mixed with peppermints all the time, thats how I got mine. Coloring is what confuses sellers lol. Cool shrimp!

I am not so sure this is a camel shrimp (Rhynchocinetes sp.). These have more pronounced rostrums, hunched backs, stubbier bodies, and sideways-pointing eyes. They may also attack soft corals.
My guess is that this is one of the nearly 40 species of Lysmata shrimp (comprises skunk cleaner shrimp, blood red fire shrimp, countless different species of peppermint shrimp, etc.). I have seen them (at least one species of peppermint shrimp) change color, so this may be what OP is seeing, since these shrimp normally have a decent amount of color on them. Maybe, just maybe, it was trying to clean OP’s fish.

How long have you had it? Peppermints can sort of brown-out because of stress and it may change color in the next few days. From the shape of it and the patterning on the shell, I wouldn't rule out a peppermint, and the "aggression" you're seeing is pretty normal when you have a stressed newcomer trying to carve out some territory with established inhabitants.
See if the color and behavior changes in the next few days, maybe see what it does/looks like after dark.

10+ years ago the first shrimp I had in my first 55 gallon reef was 3 camel shrimp. Be very cautious with this species as mine snacked on a colony of star polyps when the lights were off. This caught me by surprise because my LFS told me they were perfectly safe.
Im not saying yours is a camel shrimp though. The shrimp you have I think the perfect word is ( generic looking ) lol. I have no idea what yours Is.

Hum youre right the coloring is a little off for the red camel shrimp, I thought it might be just distortion from the glass or something. It does have the big eyes as camel shrimps do but coloring is wrong
