Shrimp ID

Had this guy since the beginning. First CUC in my tank. He’s a pro at cleaning any hair type algae that comes in. But he’s nocturnal and only now I’ve been able to get a clear pic. But what type is it? I have never seen a mention or pic of one before. He looks gray with almost tiny blue dots. Thanks!

No problem, never seen one before only recognised him from a book lol. Hes very unusual looking, very cool

Interesting creature. He flicks his stubby antennae together at the top. Almost reminds me of a praying mantis. I rarely see him. See his molts more often than him. But if I put a frag in the tank that has some algae on it, he’s out in a heartbeat tearing away at it. Good contrast to my pacific cleaners.

Thats cool never knew you could get marine shrimps which eat algae

My LFS (in Hong Kong) has lots of them. After learning more about them, I may get another.

I wish I could. But that one is nocturnal and rarely comes out to the red carpet for photo shoots. But I’m going to pick up another one tmrw. Seems they like to have mates from what I’ve read. I’ll take pics then. I also read they can change their color to red at night to mask themselves. Amazing creatures. Unlike any shrimp I’ve seen or kept.
