I picked up this cleaner shrimp today but I’ve never seen one colored like this.

Anyone know the specific name of it?

Looks like a type of coral banded shrimp . Not sure but be interesting what type of cleaner shrimp looks like a coral banded

Initially I thought so too, but it has no boxing claws and it’s tail doesn’t curl up like a coral banded.
I asked the guy at my LFS and he said it was a “cave skunk cleaner” and it’s body, legs and antennae are all exactly like a regular cleaner.

Ive scrolled through reefcleaners and live aquaria and can’t find anything.

I’ve been scrolling through sites and Google images and can’t find anything similar.
I thought camel shrimp, but It doesn’t have the same eye.

It really looks like a regular cleaner shrimp, but a different color morph.

Based on the picture already provided (and my admittedly seriously limited knowledge of various shrimp species), my first guess would be Lysmata kuekenthali, and my second would be Lysmata hochi. Beyond that, maybe Lysmata arvoredensis or similar?

There are a ton of shrimp species out there, and I might not even be in the right family - let alone genus - but those are my guesses at the moment.

i think Lysmata kuekenthali (aka Stripped Shrimp) is the winner!

you are really good at esoteric marine life!

Ive been trying to get a photo of the shrimp since adding to the tank, but it’s been in hiding. If he comes out today I’ll send another pic!

Last one. Hopefully this guy does well. Really cool color addition. I picked up a blood red shrimp yesterday too, but that went in the nano tank.
