Argh! Got 3 new skunk cleaner shrimp for Christmas a few days early. Acclimated them & put them in. They disappeared into my rockwork (it’s 200 gal so lots of places to hide) but I haven’t seen 2 of them since the first day & none of them in the last 24 hours. Nobody else in the tank who would eat them. BUT, I’ve been behind on my testing. I manually dose daily for alk, Ca & mg. I’ve missed a few days here & there. I’m testing now & appalled - kH is 6.1! I’ll retest to make sure. I know this is very low. My question is, if the shrimp were acclimated & the alk hasn’t had a big fluctuation, would this doom my shrimp anyway? Working on bringing it up now - crap.

I doubt it would effect them so much as to cause death within 24 hours. They might have been low alk, low salinity water from where you got them. I guess you didnt test the water they came in?
They might be afraid of other tank mates?
All three could be starting to molt?
