I just got a fire shrimp that was shipped from an online vendor. It appears that the shrimp molted while in transit (in his own bag). Is it safe to put him into the DT instead of quarantine?

Technically yes. I would still hold the shrimp in a separate system for 16 days (if it molted in front of me) to be sure no free swimmers are transferred.I just got a fire shrimp that was shipped from an online vendor. If there is an encysted tomont on the original exoskeleton there could be free swimmers in the water. The other thing is you don't know if that skeleton belongs to the shrimp you got. They could have netted it with the shrimp and left it in the bag.
So me personally I would still give it a full QT period. It really boils down to your personal tolerance for risk.
