My shrimp is on my coral. Will it kill my coral? 20180318_175940.jpg

Ya you got to watch them carefully. Peppermint can and do eat corals. You really have to target feed them where they hide to keep them at bay. And this still might not work.

Feed them what? I have brine shrimp that my 2 new clowns eat. Will that suffice? It's not on my corals atm. Stopped after I wrote this.

Look at the differences between camelback shrimp and peppermint shrimp. Camelback are coral eaters and peppermint are aptasia eaters. They look similar. I have been lucky enough to avoid aptasia, so I have not needed to research this yet. You may learn something useful. I am looking into it now.

Not to go off the rails here -- But brine shrimp won't suffice for your clownfish either, that's like feeding a kid nothing but iceberg lettuce. Find a place near you that has LRS or RODS food. Or make a mix of some other frozen goodies like mysis, spirulina brine/mysis, eggs, pods, and a high quality pellet/flake food.

The more quality and variety you feed your fish, the better their health will be.

And of course, feeding your fish a nice variety will give your shrimp something else to munch on.. That alone doesn't *always* work, but it couldn't hurt.

The photo above is a peppermint shrimp. They, like I have said 100x, are the devil. Some may be model citizens, but most (if not all) will in time become coral eaters.

We are trying to catch it now. Using a net and food. Gonna try a bottle too.

I hate peppermint shrimp. I mean I absolutely hate them. Did I say I hate these little jerknuggets? I hate them. You get the point.

I had 3-4 aptesia pop up on a rock so I decided to try them. they only ate the smaller ones and didn't bother with the bigger one. What they tried to eat was my newly introduced RBTA. It was actually my mistake. I got a tunnel vision trying to get rid of the aptasia and not realizing they will go hunting my RBTA as well. Long story short, my small BTA split into 2 baby BTAs, and these baby BTAs are still grumpy after 2 months and not opening up. I used the bottle trap method to catch these shrimp. They have been sent to azkaban aka the refugium.

To the OP, get rid of em. they are @%%@^#&*#
