Hi I have 2 cleaner shrimp in QT for 2 weeks now after the first week one of them shed its exoskeleton and yesterday the other one did the same. Both happened through the night i didn't see anything just found the exoskeleton next morning. I assumed both shed the exoskeletons since it is a short time for one to change twice.
Now do i consider them safe to be transferred to DT or i have to wait for full 45 days.
NB,I can't do separate QT now [emoji849]
Thanks for any help

Where did you come by the 45 days quarantine idea?

When I get livestock I only quarantine the fish for a few days to watch them. Other livestock goes into the holding tank (just 16g) for an hour to a day depending on how healthy they appear to be. I even bring home livestock from the ocean (legally collected) and they go through the same process. In 15 years the only issues I've had were aiptasia and flat worms. And both of those issues were in my early days before I started the holding tank.

For me the scary part is the livestock that has come from the ocean has never been a problem. I have more 'issues' with livestock I get from LFS, online sellers and fellow reefers!

A lot of reefers consider 45 to 76 days for minimal quarantine time, but if the shrimp molt it is safe to transfere if single
My situation of having 2 shrimps in the same QT makes me question if it is safe as they molted within 7 days duration of each other
