Hello everyone...wanted to get some advice, 29 gallon BioCube, 40 pound of live rock. If you could select only one shrimp for this size tank, which would it be? Skunk, Fire or Banded Coral? I've been told that due to the size of the tank, I should only house one of these guys and just looking for some input from those who may currently have or had these 3 type of shrimp. The tank will only house a couple of clowns, royal gramma and some type of goby with some soft & lps coral. Suggestions would certainly be appreciated...thanks...

All would be ok but c.b. will get bigger mine is bout the size of a tennis ball just body and claws and is way more aggressive than my cleaner shrimp both in a 90 i just got a fire but haven't had it long enough to say much about it other than I love the look I just put him in a nuvo 38. I would say cleaner or fire probly better options and that is just my opinion from my tank Good luck

I like the Fire Shrimp but they can be very reclusive and shy. My last one would come out of his cave when I got home from work every night just to sit and watch me, much like a dog waiting to be feed. They have great color, and mine never harassed the LPS too badly.

Yes, BC shrimp get huge! I have one in my 75 and he takes up quite a bit of space even though he barley moves from one spot. I thought he would venture out more in the evening, but he must be getting enough food just staying put

(Hit send before I was done) was going a to say....... I have seen my tang go up to the BC shrimp and let him climb on his face so he could clean him... That was pretty cool to see.

I don't care for any of them they hide. I would choose skunk maybe at least u have a chance of it cleaning if not banded then. Banded will eat your hermit crabs though caught mine doing it so got rid of him. I'd recommend sexy shrimp they are always out and about but your clowns might kill them if they get "frisky" had a mated pair and they were doing their little mating dance and the male became aggressive and killed one of my sexy shrimp that I bred so I got rid of the clowns I worked to hard raising my shrimp to let it happen again

My fire shrimp is always out and the fish present themselves to get cleaned. She molts about once a month. Very beautiful shrimp. I have mine in a 27 gallon. Has not touched or hurt any corals.
