Shrimp vs Shop Vac

Odd question..

I have 3 peppermint shrimps in my sump.. and they had made their way into the return section. I tried and tried, I can't get them out. they always go into a spot where it's impossible for me to reach or chase out, between the baffles.

I need to clean out that section of the sump of debris and I like to use the shop vac as it's quick and easy.

What are the chances of the shrimps surviving the shop vac if I should happen to suck one up?

It's the Home Depot Buckethead shop vac.

Couldnt tell ya, as ive never done that before! One good thing you can think about is the shrimp is eating detritus and un eaten food in those areas. Hope you get them out! They are going down the drain to sump from the display? Netting around your drain pipe or overflow should prevent this, also will prevent any snail or animal clogging the drain.

They were in the refugium section of my sump. They found a small opening to get to the other side through the baffle. No way back into the refugium on their own

Put a small piece of table shrimp at the bottom of a glass and wait for one or more to climb in then be quick to cover the top and remove. I did this to remove one from my display tank.

Make a trap out of a plastic soda bottle. Cut the top off and turn it around inside out and glue it. Stuff a piece of meaty food in there and wait until they go in. Then just pick the bottle up and pull the top off and put them in the display.

Could you cut a piece of craft canvas to fit and almost give them a ladder?

I took a chance. they were too quick and didn't make it into the vac.

Was hoping it'd be an easy way to get them in
