7 month old inherited tank. This acan has been here about a month and seemed to be doing really well until this week. I think he’s receding a little while retaining good color?? Would like to get ahead of the curve if intervention is needed.

100gal
Feed ‘roids 2x weekly
Alk 10.0 (has swung 8-11 in recent weeks as I fine tune A4R dosing)
PO4 .09 (also a moving target as the tank matures)
No3 5-10
Sal 1.025
Calc 420
Mag 1200

All other corals doing fine incl Duncan, candy cane, & favia. 1000 thanks, all.

It looks good to me, the pic is too blurry to see any receding, but the flesh is puffy. I see the mouth open, it could potentially be hungry, do you feed your corals?

'Roids 2x weekly but I bought some reef pellets too. So far, my pellet placement attempts have been rim shots.

Thanks for the insight. He was puffier last week and as a new reef father, I'm still learning actually sick vs. looking less than 110%.

How much par and flow is it getting? Mine is happy on sand in low flow and low light. Would agree your magnesium is low. Unless you get a concentrate, you’ll need to buy a metric ton of magnesium.

He's down low near the sand in moderate flow (judging by the xenia next door). Thanks all!
