Hello. I have had some corals (favia and acans) for months now in a tank that is over 6 months old. About a month ago, I had a small issues with dinos. Oddly, my salifert test kept saying that I had .08 phos and 2-5 nitrates during the whole process. I did a blackout and the problem resolved. Right after the blackout, my acans put on new heads and the favia was starting to really grow.

In the last 3 weeks, my birdsnest and stylo have gone through STN, but montipora seem ok. My softies look great and the frogspawn, hammers and duncan are growing well.

I ramped the redsea light back up to 80% blues and 35% whites for a 20k (what it was before the blackout) over the last two weeks.

In this last week, I see that the favia has receded and one of my acans is showing some skeleton (I originally thought it was due to a vermetid snail that I found yesterday), but after looking at some of my other acans, they seem a bit pulled in as well. I thought a few weeks ago it was related to the new heads, but now I don't think so.

I started to see the start of a dino strand here and there in the last week and suspected something was off. I ordered a Hannah kit and found phosphates to be at 0. I started dosing the last few days to get phosphates to .05 and have to dose quite a bit each day as it disappears quickly.

I started with dry rock and live sand and have been doing microbacter7 daily with phyto every 3rd day and redsea AB every 3rd day as well.

I also ordered a redsea alk test after the phosphate issue with the salifert. The alk on the salifert has been between 8.9 and 9.3. I dose when it goes to 8.9. However, redsea shows it as 8.1. I know there are test difference and my understanding is to keep within the range and use one test to be consistent.

Why would I see big growth after a blackout and now everything receeding?

Parameters are tested every other day and have been sitting as follows for the last two months (phosphate may be the exception)..
Sal 1.025 to 1.026
Alk 8.9 to 9.3
Nitrate 2.5 to 5
Ph 8.2 (tested in the am and pm)
Temperature between 77.9 and 78.5
Mag 1450-1480
Cal 450-500
Phosphate dosing it keep at 0.05. Salifert said .08 to .1 when Hannah ULR phosphorus showed 0

Using purigen, cheato and filter floss currently. Took skimmer offline and removed UV 2 days after blackout.

A little algae in sump that is cleaned out and 3 small tufts of algae in tank with a few strands here and there.

Thanks in advance
