You mentioned mag a cal numbers but not alk. just wondering where your running at. I've been shooting for 9 and seems ok but I dont have any shrooms yet.

Hey Dief my new salt mixed up to 9.8dkh, 1520mag and 1450cal and shrooms never looked better. Ive been shooting for 9 as magic number. It has drifted up and down a point during set up and vacation but trying to consistently keep it around 9dkh.
I will say since my cal and mag have been depleting some of my shrooms aren't looking as great. So im going to try and push those numbers back up with alk and see whats up. When I run my dkh to low side my ph follows it.
In my new salt mix at higher numbers I had about 5or6 new rose corals pop out I didn't even know where there. Long polyp extension but since drifting to low side they have retracted a bit.
My magic dkh number may be 10dkh with the higher cal and mag I just want to see what im looking for and I'll know.
Randy does talk about running higher nutrients with higher dkh and im totally ok with the elevated numbers as long as I see the results I'm looking for I guess

Cool man! We settled on 1300 mag an cant remember why. Guess I have to do some readying again and see if I should bump it up. Takes alot of dosing to raise mag 200ppt...

Mag is one im particularly concerned about. My mag dropped 80 points in 10 days. I have a canister of loud wolf mag powder sitting in closet that I can mix up if need be. Ive seen reefers here running mag consistently at 1500 to 1600 high with no issues to combat nuisance algae.

I have a pair of oscies... they host my wave maker. I even had 3 rbta in there at one point and they didn't even look at them... those clowns have torches, hairy shrooms, elegance, and a bunch of other stuff to choose from and they love the wave maker...
