Ok I have this mushroom thing.

It's not a standard shroom Yuma or a Ric. Maybe an umbrella? Either way I cannot get a pic bc it has made its way Into the back of the rock work.

Not really in search of an I'd until I snap a pic but was more curious as to how you would go about keeping one in place?

I tried to surfer glue it. It slimed it off. I left but on some rubble, stuck to it, than I glued to rubble to a rock. He walked off. Than i tried placing him in a crevasse but he walked back to his spot.

He is basically a shy green and brown anemone in a mushrooms body. Extremely mobile. Very deadly. He ate a live Molly 2 times and a guppy 1 time none of which were intended by me lol.

I really think its cool. He isn't dying bc light gets back there and he's 2 x larger than when I got him. I just wanna see him.

I know with nems its just letting them find their way.

Are these types of corals the same way?

Weird! Okay I have to ask. How did it eat the same Molly twice?

I would love to see a picture of this when your able to get one :)

That's the only pic I have of it. Haha

Mushroom "corals" as we tend to call them aren't really corals. The order Corallimorpharia (mushroom corals) are most closely related to the Actinaria (sea anemones.) Corals belong to the Order Scleractinia. The orders Corallimorpharia, Actinaria, and Scleractinia all belong within Class Anthozoa, Subclass Hexacorallia, and as such are all related. Another commonly kept order is Zoantharia (zoanthids and palys.) Mushrooms will get up and move just like their close relatives the anemones. They can be real buggers that way.

If I wanted a biology lecture I would have went to college for it. Just kidding. Lol. Thanks for that information. The mushrooms are so cool. So many types and I love that placement is not my responsibility with them. Only wish mine was less shy! Here's what I'm dealing with. It's like a where's Waldo picture.

Don't mind the cyano. I think it's from a shrimp I crushed last night. I'm getting more crabs when I take my cat to the vet in a bit. They should eat his remains lol. I think my existing clean up crew goes on strike sometimes so I have to toss in a new guy every once in a while.
