shrooms hate me and it makes me sad.

ok, so i have been able to care for everything, sps, lps, all manner inverts and fish. all of witch have thrived under my care. but why do shrooms hate me? from the day they arrive in my waters they shrivl and almost never be themselves. i always hear shrooms are amazeingly easy to care for, so what am i doing wrong?

What kind of shrooms? Not all are equal care wise. Discosomas can be very resilient but yumas can be impossible to keep.

Yumas. Discosomas kinda like me but not much. Like right now I have a nice rainbow Yuma a 8th nice bubble formation and its only inflated once sense I got it.

Yumas melt on everyone I believe. There's some claims of keeping them alive but you don't see captive yumas sold and traded like discos, Rics or rhodactis.

Yumas need the low and I meen low flow. I have had mine for years and as long as it stay low flow it's happy. As soon as it gets enough flow to move it, it will shrivel and look dead.

I've had my yumas for a couple years I wouldn't consider low flow at all. They get huge bubbles almost like giant bounce bubbles. Maybe they just need po4, I have no shortage of that. Lol

Po4? And would low light keep them well? Like normal white led low. If so I can just move it to a different tank. The tank it's in has alil more than low flow, just enough to make the hammers and galixia move. But the lighting is about 900-1600 lux, full spectrum.

I've kept mine in all types of light and they seem to adjust fairly well. A little phosphate like stated seems to help also.

Lol well my frag tank usually keeps a higher phosphate cause I feed corals heavy and only do monthly changes so that might be a good way to get them to rise

Nice! I'll try it out and see. Only things in the tank that isn't coral is a purple lobster, 2 emerald crabs (babies) and snails and hermits. Had A dottyback in there but it got to close to the lobster and got decapitated...I loved that lol guy......

9 to 1600 is pretty low light if that's the top of the tank. I'f it's shallow your prob ok. At 18 to 24 deep I think it's very low IMO.
Currently I don't have a lout of yum as and rcs mostly pretty and more plain mushrooms and focusing on ZOA care and light experiments.
That said the recent increase in intensity and par in my DT has made my shrooms very happy. Now around 24000l with Ati bulbs. I have tossed some of the shrooms in my smaller 30g cube that is about 30k lux under Radions halide. Also very happy. Even those near halfway up in the tank.
I have seen here and in my experience common type shrooms that fade and look faded or transparent from apparent under lighting. The Rica and uma I have lost from known under lighten generally slowly shrank and had the usual grumpy coral signals. Similar but not as fast as the classic ZOA melt.

Full spectrum? (5600kelvin full spec)Or more towards the 10,000 kelvin classic reef range.
