Shy and not eating ???

So I’ve had this chalk bass for over a month now and al the sudden he became skittish and doesn’t eat. Any one have ideas or am I paranoid for no reason

My experience with them, by the way I think they are very underated and very cool, they do have a tendency to hang out under over hangs/under rocks.

Not eating isn't good though. What are you feeding it? What other fish do you have?

These guys are rather timid species of fish and don't always do well in a aggressive or highly active tank.

As far as tank mates there’s just two clowns and a cleaner shrimp.
I’m feeding omega one marine pellets on a constant feeder and I had feed frozen missis.. sorry for my spelling

Keep a eye on it for disease or parasites. As far as foods, try some meaty frozen food. Rods, LRS.....

Will do thanks for the feed back and when he was moving and active I liked him more then the clowns to be honest very happy I got him ... I noticed my nitrates where pretty high would that cause this kind of behavior?? Cause his breathing looks heavy to... call me paranoid

What's your N03 at? Does it's color look off, dull? Any scratching/flashing against rocks or sand?

I wanna say around 10ppm give or take and no scratching or flashing that I’ve seen and color looks the same ... posssibke a little more faint but he hides so well it’s like playing where’s Waldo let alone having a clear view of his full body

10ppm isn't anything to worry about. 30-40, then okay do a water change to get it down.

If it looks okay, try the meaty foods and see if it will eat. Take a better picture of it if you can.

Okay, color looks good. Good looking bass. I see in the last picture it looks like white poop. May have internal parasites. As a good measure, try metro mixed in focus with some meaty foods like I said before. Spot feed all fish with a feeder tube or turkey baster. Don't let your shrimp eat this or snails.
