Shy Lubbock Fairy Wrasse

I picked up a Lubbock's Fairy Wrasse three days ago. It was was extremely active at the LFS and they informed me they had had it in the store for just over 2 weeks. Now that it is in my tank though, it hides in the rock work and hardly ever comes out. So far I've seen it in flashes and once when I put food in the tank. Its the only fish in the tank. Is this normal behavior when wrasses are added to tanks? Is there anything I can do to coax it out?

Tank information and specs:
40g breeder. FOWLR. 78.5*F, 1.024 SG, 8.2pH, 0 Nitrate, 0.25 phosphate, 0 nitrite, 0 ammonia

Give him time, feed don't coax coaxing will only stress him.

I had 1. It hid for a month, I thought it died. I saw it for 2 days. Then a few months later I't died. I think the 6 line was a bully. I think they need really calm tank mates.

Without other fish in the tank it will be a little more tentative. In the wild seeing other fish swimming out and about is comforting, it means it is not dangerous to be out swimming. When no other fish are visible it is indicative of a predator or another danger. Give him time and he will figure out that it is safe.

As everyone else stated...give him some time. I have had wrasses hide for months before becoming comfortable. I eventually had to get rid of my Lubbock's though due to him eating my LPS :sad:
