Hello

I was setting up my return pump the other day.
A Sicce Syncra 6.0.
Notice that the tubing provided by Red Sea is too small to fit the standard barb fitting.
See pictures.

Which barb fitting would pair with the Sicce?
it looks like I’ll need a 3/4”.

If memory serves I used 3/4" tubing. I'd recommend silicone over the braided, as the braided seems to pickup and amplify vibrations like crazy.
Sorry, newb and not super technical savvy.
What do mean by braided?

I ordered a 3/4” Barb to see if that will work.

I believe the smallest barb you can get for the Sicce SDC 6.0 is the stock 3/4" one - which accommodates both 3/4" and 1" tubing. So you may need a different Red Sea barb (not sure which tank you have) and/or tubing.

This is braided tubing. You don't want it - opt for silicone (like the green Red Sea tubing instead).

Get the 3/4" ID silicone tubing! I had the braided hose on my S400 (running SDC 7.0) and it had noticeable low frequency sounds. Replaced it with the Silicone tube and absolutely silent

Ah ok.

the stock Red Sea tubing is the green non braided tubing. So I’m ok there.
It’s a 200XL G2.

the problem is on the Sicce side.
They didn’t include a barb to accommodate the Red Sea tubing

I picked up this 3/4 barb from BRS

The Green hose is almost as rigid as the braid hose so you still have noise/vibration issues. I am not sure if the 3/4" BRSbarb will work for you since one of the Sicce piece is for 3/4 ID tubing (and you said it won't fit?).

I like coming off of the pump with a short piece of PVC Pipe, with a Union in it, then to Soft Tubing. This makes it much easier to service the pump, and it will eliminate the need for a clamp in the water. Also if I need to have the pump out for an extended cleaning and Citric Acid soak, or in the event of a failure. It makes it easier to substitute a pump that has a matching Union.

You may be right.
The tubing has such a thick wall that it won’t fit.
Maybe I should just switch out the tubing instead of messing with the barbs.

It's kinda late to the party by a month or so, but thought I'd post that I have the same exact issue and contacted Red Sea who told me to switch to the tube that fits the Sicce and then use the Red Sea return attachment / barb for the 450 which is part number R42222 or 42222. Their support said this size will fit on a 250 and the tubing needed for the Sicce Syncra.

I think you need a female threaded barb and not the male you have shown. But I could be wrong. I have the adv 7 and I think the connections are all female.

He's actually showing the right one that comes with the pump. He just needs or needed to get the Reefer 450 return pipe barb which fits on 3/4" tubing and get 3/4" tubing. I just did that exact thing and it's fine. I did have to put the end of the 3/4" tubing in boiling water to get it to go over that 3/4" Sicce barb but it's on.
