My sicce syncra silent 2.0 stopped working abruptly, it's my main pump. I've soaked it in vinegar, and re-assembled it, it still 'runs' but the propeller refuses to turn, it sometimes works but it comes to a halt again after a minute of use. I removed one of the rubber stops at one of the ends of the propeller and it works fine, but would removing the rubber ends cause problems in the long run? Is this a good solution, I cant think about anything else after an hour or two trying to fix the pump, I've only had it for 1 year.

Removing the rubber ends will likely cause the impeller to wobble and fail again. Did you check inside the pump housing at the back? seems there might be something lodged in there that might be rubbing on the magnet of the impeller. Also, look at the impeller and make sure the magnet isn't swelling. If it is, you need to order a new one right away.
Hope this helps.

If the rubber is the culprit, try a peice of silicone tubing in place and see if it runs steady. The rubber may be deteriorating and causing the binding behavior if impeller
