Hello fellow reefers

Decided to put a sicce return pump in my new 125gal tank and was wondering which one I should get for the tank, I am not sure how many gph I should use. And what style. If I can get some advice that could help

rule of thumb is 5 - 10x tank volume = 625gph - 1250gph

1ft vertical = 1ft head pressure
every 90° elbow turns = 1 ft head pressure
10ft of horizontal = 1ft head pressure

Calculate your head pressure in feet, convert to meters and use this chart to pick you desired rate. just convert meters to feet and liters to gallons. Each pump is a different color and marked

i would go for a sicce syncra pro, quietest return pump outside of a dc unit. I dont quite trust dc pumps for my return yet so this is what i run, i might in the future try a red dragon dc but i have no issue with my sicce and its hard to justify the cost for something i do not currently need.

On a 125 gallon tank I would go for between 400gph and 650 gph.
So without knowing anything about the plumbing, and or drains, and your first choice of a Sicce pump, my pick would be a Sicce 4.0.
I would also plan on putting a good ball valve on the return plumbing.
