you can see him in the bottom left-hand corner

He looks pretty ticked off there huh? I dont know a better answer than that so we will call for help!
Oooooh [HASHTAG]#reefsquad[/HASHTAG] !

That guy looks ticked off! Assuming nothing has changed in the tank, and you've had this guy for some time, I'd first check for stray voltage. I'm guessing and have never seen an anemone do this all of a sudden in an established tank. Anyone else have a guess?

They usually only do that after they've eaten something (like a small fish) or are ticked off about rapidly changing water chemistry.

How long have you had him?

My BTA looked similar with yours for weeks, then when started open had no tentacles anymore... was a flat disc, rather ugly. Now is recovering (after around 1 month) - and come back to normal. Still not as before, but much better.
Was my guilt as I feed it a large piece of shell meat (really large) - BTA swallowed it fast and then shrieked.

What do you think of the most recent pictures I posted did yours look like that?

How long have you had your anemone? Could be caused by many factors, check your nitrates and ammonia. Could be not enough light, it looks like its trying to move higher on the rock.

Does your cleaner shrimps leave her alone?? My shrimps often are with their legs inside the nem and she is closed of hours after that.

What lighting are you currently running? When was the last parameter check....

Well it died about three days ago I think it was just old age and stress. It was a bout 6 to 8 months old I'm not really sure and the power unfortunately about two weeks ago got turned off for four hours before I got home from work. So I think in combination with all that you could just not take anymore. The saddest thing is my maroon clown keeps looking for him in the same spot

Really sorry to hear that, it's hard to loose our sea creatures that we care about. :(

Really sorry for the loss... Such happens and nobody likes it.
BTAs dont die due to age - oldest captive BTA have 80 years and no signs of ageing. Try another one, this time will be better :)
