Sick Blenny

Bloated, white patch just behind gill on only one side, not eating, not very active.

Stopped at LFS, zero for medication, our government has pulled most of it and need a prescription for things like metroplex, prazapro.

What, if anything can I do?

I can't see much in the pic. By your description it sounds like it may be bacterial.

Do you have access to any type of medication?

Maybe. Depends, what medication I guess . Suggestions?

Like I said, lots of products have been pulled from the shelves through government regulation. I would have to call around and see once I know what I am looking for.

Have you tried a 5min FW dip to see if any flukes dislodge?

I have not. So possibly dip in RO water, 5 min? Hmm, will read up on that. First time in 10 years I have had to deal with a y sort of sick fish.

He has been in here for about 6 months. Last fish was added at least two months ago.

I see Big Al's in Canada still sells Ruby Reef Rally. I'd consider setting up a QT and dosing it with RRR and giving the blenny a 90 minute bath in RRR as well. It has both antiseptic and antibiotic qualities.

Noticed they also still sell Hikari Quick Ich-X. It contains 22% formalin which can work on flukes. Might take more than one application to help the blenny.
