Hello everyone,

So recently I had a break out of ich in my DT. Noticed it first on my Blue Hippo. So I immediately set up a hospital tank and moved all the fish into it. So I have been treating with cupermine since the beginning of April. Keeping the level at 0.5 ppm as instructed. All other water parameters are in check. All fish were looking good until two days ago when the hippo started to get spots again. And it's been getting worse. I thought it was ich. And was under the impression copper was the treatment. The fish is still active and still eating. Just looks horrible. Worse than when I started this copper treatment.

Any help or advice would greatly be appreciated.

Ps the water is clean injust fed frozen to try and get a better pic oh her

This is kinda common with Blue Hippos. It's either a viral infection or a bacterial infection. Can treat with antibiotics like Metro or Kanaplex, but it's more of a condition that usually resolves itself by keeping the water in pristine condition and feeding the tang high quality foods + vitamins. I highly recommend Beta Glucan as a supplement. It tremendously boost a fish's immune system. Mix it with food. Can bind with Focus if desired.
Here's a thread with more info. See post #14 by Humblefish

I used Poly Labs Reef Medic, worked great. Treated my DT with my hippo in it. Went away totally in 15 days.
