My Cardinal woke up today laying between a rock and the glass, close to the sand. Now he is close to the sand and not swimming much. Any clues what is happening to him?

How old is the tank? How long have you had the fish? Anything new added to the tank lately in the last 30 days or so that is "wet" like fish, corals, inverts?
How is the fish's breathing rate?

Tank is about 9 months old. This cardinal has been there since February (about 1.5 months), after 3 weeks of quarantine. I added, about two weeks ago, two new fish, one royal gramma and one flasher wrasse (after quarantine too). Also have added about 4 frag softcorals within the last month. Everybody seemed to be doing fine. I'm not sure if the fish was attacked or if it became sick overnight.

I did a coral dip (revive coral cleaner) before putting them in the tank.

Could be old age, and or, like us, fish do have strokes, heart attacks, and can injure themselves by running into rocks, glass, etc.
