He has a white film coming from near his dorsal fin. I just noticed it minutes ago. It wasn't there yesterday. It was feed time and he didn't eat. He's been eating well until now.

Thanks

"White film" immediately hints at possible Brooklynella. How long have you had the clown and has it had any preventive treatments for disease/parasites?

More info on Brook with pics of the progression and treatments.

He's pretty new.. maybe a couple weeks tops.. and nothing has been done yet to my knowledge.

Thx

Did a freshwater dip yesterday and another one this afternoon before throwing my fish in a QT.

Setup QT tank and went to local fish store. Noticed my clowns eye had turned white. LFS says it is likely a bacterial infection. So, my clown is in QT with some medication. Hopefully thinks clear up in a few days!

He didn't make it.

I am back in the game after a 10 year break but this isn't going well. My first two fish are gone. I did a fishless cycle that took about 4-5 weeks. I have 2 fish left (first replacement was a really small clown and drown after getting sucked in the overflow).

Losing two fish in less than a month..

SG 1.025
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 0
Phos: .25
Am 0
PH - 7.8
Temp about 80 (maybe I am keeping my tank too warm but I did plenty of research here and 80 seems fine).
Dkh - have not tested

My other clown still looks fine and my lawnmower is fat and happy... 6 Zoa frags doing well too.

My daughter (9) is not going to be happy!

Sorry for your loss :(

Lots of disease and parasites in the supply chains these days.

QTing and having a fish med kit helps as some diseases and parasites can move quickly.
