Well guys this clown I’ve had for several years was in my dt all my my coral fish and cuc go through qt. No new additions to dt. He started showing signs of some fin lesions or a slight bacterial infection on the fin and wasn’t really acting like himself. Removed him from the dt went into a 1 hr Paraguard bath then into the QT. I started kanaplex and metro ran kanaplex for 1 week as suggested on the package I dosed kanaplex one day metro the next alternating determine the two for 6 days then stopped the kanaplex and started Paraguard with the metro continued this for 9 days. Because i have not seen him eat the entire time in qt I stopped the treatment to give him a break, it’s been 5 days and still have not seen him eat. the fins look a lot better he also had a few small brown spots on his side they cleared up as well. However he still acts very sick laying on the bottom of the tank. I’m guessing he exhausted or slowly dying as a last resort I’m thinking about a fw dip. Any other ideas ?

The water quality is good in the QT, no ammonia? Can you get me a respiration rate? Just count the breaths in 15 seconds and multiple by 4. Are all the other fish fine? Any other clowns in there ?
Jay

Water quality is good. Respiration rate extremely fast super hard to count. My best count 52 in 15 sec. no other fish in qt no other fish showing same signs in dt

Oh, I was able to view the video when I got home tonight - that rapid mouth breathing at greater than 150 beats per minute is unfortunately rarely fixable....the ONLY thing I can offer is to try a five minute freshwater dip, and if it offers some relief, it may buy you some time. At this point though, it could also bring on respiratory collapse - sorry.

Did a 5 fw dip he showed no signs of stress until the last 30 seconds. I pulled him and put him back into qt and same thing down to the bottom and rested. I’ve also been lowering sg over the last few days to increase O2 levels on the water and have had an air stone running in the tank with a sponge filter. I guess unless someone else has and idea I’ll probably try some furon2 with metro. Is humblefish still on R2R?

No, Humblefish is no longer on R2R. Did you notice any aggression from your other fish towards your clown? Are your other fish exhibiting any symptoms? Were you dosing the DT with anything new before the symptoms? Just trying to get as much info as possible to help.

No aggression in the dt I was dosing vibrant that was the only new thing but I don’t think there is a connection between the two however it is a bacteria

I agree, very doubtful there was a connection. How's your clown doing today now that it's had some time to recoup from the FW dip?
