I have had salt water aquariums in the past when I was a kid and in my 20’s now that I’m in my 40’s and my son is 17 and was “rescuing” every beta fish he found I decided to get him into salt. We bought a clown. All good, second one we purchased is this little one two days after “it” was in the tank developed these spots no where nearly this bad. Contacted the seller, local shop, told us to flush it and she would replace it. She did. But I just can’t see not giving it a fair shot so I purchased a bought a whole set up and put it in Quarantine as if it has coronavirus. Shop says they have never seen anything like this. Has anyone seen anything like this?

Do you have any corals in the other tank, or were there any in her tank from the seller? Sometimes they can cause spots of hyperpigmentation on clowns when the clowns "host" the corals.

Only thing in the tank was another clown that is doing great.

I was not there when my son purchase the little one but I am familiar with the tank it came out of. It’s mostly bubble tips and odds and ends of Miscellaneous “whatever” just throw in. Have been in there some times and seen her “fishing” fish out of here live rock tubs that some how get sucked down out of the that frag tank I am Referring into the live rock tubs if that makes sense?
