Sick Copperband Butterflyfish

Sadly he didn't survive the night. He was breathing rather rapidly and seemingly near death by the time I noticed the flukes. This morning he was already gone. I want to thank everyone for their time, it was much appreciated. We tried.

Is it standard practice to send out sick fish? This is the first time I am ordering online, from a vendor who claims to have a quarantine/treatment process.

Sorry to hear.

This fish had some strikes against it going in; a delicate species, the fin damage, not feeding and then the Neobenedenia. The latter is REALLY difficult to treat, even public aquariums have it get through their quarantine protocols if they use prazi.

What may have happened is that the CB had a heavy Neo infection. The meds cause the Neo to all drop off at once, This leaves open holes in the fish's skin and they can actually bleed out from that. Not treating them is also leathal though....

Sorry to hear that. You did the best you could in a hard situation.
