I just went through probably the worst parasite infestation I've ever had. I had to take apart my whole reef to get all my fish and start treating. This leaves me with a ton of questions. I want to know if I was to feed a medicated food to the infected fish in the display tank would this have gotta rid of the parasites in my display tank. I did a lot of reading about this because I wanted to avoid taking my fish out. But I ended having to anyways to save the fish. But anyway back on topic. Someone once told me feeding the medicated food to the fish for about 30 days will make the fish bulletproof to the parasite so the parasite will actually die in your display tank. I want to know your opinions. I know the written rule is to get fish out and medicate.

It depends which parasites you have. With ich or velvet, no. There is no medicated food currently available that will rid your tank of them.

Agreed. There isn't a medicated food that will cure parasites aside from intestinal worms. Nothing will make your fish "bullet proof".

So do you believe every fish has the ich parasite like some say.

No. If QT protocols were followed properly then it's very possible to have a tank full of ich-free fish. My tank is one of those. Now, if you never QT and just add fish willy-nilly then odds are there is ich in the tank. Ich and velvet run rampant at the suppliers so the odds of a fish having one or the other is high.
