Most butterflies do not do well with "Ionic Coppers" like Cupramine. That's why I posted the levels for "chelated coppers" like Copper Power, Coppersafe.

Yikes...looks like copper intoxication...my gem was doing that and I took out 50% and keep my levels at around .25-.50 cupramine...took out after 3 weeks and now going on week 2 in steile tank...everyone looks okay....thus far

+1 ^^^ Sorry but from your description "dusty" and the death, rapid spots, 2 week time frame, I'm afraid your tank is infested with velvet parasites. You'll have to act fast to save the rest of the fish. Should assume they have all been attacked by the parasites.

Velvet Emergency protocol:

Freshwater dip

Immediately follow with: Bath in Ruby Reef Rally. This step has shown to greatly increase survival rates

Treat fish with either CP or copper. CP dosing will be at therapeutic levels immediately and that's the benefit of using it.
Copper requires a partial dosing a 1.00 ppm and within 24-48 hours of small doses to therapeutic level at 2.0 ppm.

Often bacterial infections set in from the parasite's damage and the treatments stress the fish's immune system. So dose with either Spectrogram or with Furan2 + Kanaplex + Metro for 10-14 days.

Hey big G. I am finishing copper treatment within the next 2 weeks. Should i do spectrogram or the trifecta? What do you recommend?

Spectrogram is a blend of Kanamyacin + Furan and is much easier to dose. So you are using one less med than the "Trifecta" which includes Metro.
Metro is primarily used to treat internal parasites. If you are going to de worm the fish with General Cure after the copper is removed, it will get the Metro within GC's mix of praziquantel + metro.

Ok i think im going to go with the spectro and GC method....any thing i missed?

Best way to use General Cure (powder) is to use a brine shrimp type net (very fine mesh). Place the net partially into the water. Pour in the appropriate number of packets of GC. Massage the net to release the GC into the water. Some GC will remain in the net. Invert the net to release the remains.

Wassup big g... today us my last day of copper. I am now trying to remove copper for qt. I will be doing a 50% wc and adding curpisorb. Any idea how to use curpisorb? Do i need a filter bag to put the curpisorb in?can i just add the curpisorb in the tank? Also how much do i need for a 10g tank?

Yes absolutely, after the fallow period your rock, sand, inverts and corals are all good!!

Just remember parasites come in on everything including snails and corals.

So dont put anything wet in your tank or you need to restart your fallow period.
any ideas on removing copper with curpisorb?

There is two ways to buy prepared Cuprisorb. One comes with a mesh bag full of the Cuprisorb material; the other is to buy a bulk container of Cuprisorb and you would need to supply your own bag.

I usually place the bag into a HOB filter to get as much water flow across the Cuprisorb.

The Cuprisorb material can be reused over and over. You recharge it with commonly available muratic acid. Most hardware stores sell it.

I've had best results by doing a couple of large water changes first. The math is easy, if you have a 10 gallon tank and you do a 5 gallon water change the copper level drops by 50%. Do another the next day and you've taken out about 75% of the copper. Then run the cuprisorb for a few days. You'll see it starting to turn blue on the edges of the pouch. Very easy to recharge, just wear goggles to protect your eyes, mask for the acid fumes and gloves.

Thanks big g for helping me through this crappy process.

You can use them together. But each time you add a new med it uses more of the available O2 in the water. Boost aeration. A powerhead aimed up at the surface where it is actively rippling the water's surface works pretty good and is the best O2 exchange you can do.
