Good day all,
Looking for some help with a sick Foxface cause I clearly don't know what I'm doing....
On March 5th I picked up 2 Four eye butterfly and 1Foxface. I gave them a good acclimation in the QT tank which is a 40 gallon breeder filled to 25 gallons. I have 2 foam filters bubbling, 1 powerhead pointing at the surface and a HOB to catch the large stuff as well as some PVC pipes. QT tank was sterilized and then cycled for 2 month. Cycle was good as it should be. I put the fish in and they were fat, dumb and happy... eating well, swimming around and no signs of any illness. Been watching the ammonia closely and have never seen it above 0. Salinity is at 1.023 and has been steady as well.
Been topping off as needed. Last Saturday I did a 5 gallon water change. On Sunday I decided to dose the tank with Prazipro to be on the safe side. I did 1 teaspoon for the 25 gallons which is slightly less then what they recommend.
Monday morning the 1 butterfly was dead, the 2nd wasn't looking great and passed a few hours latter. The Foxface was alive but not looking great. I did a FW dip on the dead fish and I think I saw some white stuff in the bucket. I then did the FW dip on the Foxface and I saw more white stuff in the bucket but I really don't know what I'm looking for....
Foxface is swimming around, seems responsive. Hanging around all parts of the tank but at the bottom. He looked better last night but this morning looked like he did yesterday morning. Please take a look at the pics and let me know what you think. I have no idea what I'm dealing with. I don't see any white spots like with ICH, they look more brown, blackish. He seems to be breathing more rapidly as well.
