Afternoon

I have a hammer that is not looking very happy. It's been this way for a few days.

I noticed a couple of days ago some stuff was looking unhealthy and my stars were dropping legs so I tested and noticed my nitrates had spiked up to 15-20ish.
Did a water change and a clean and everything is looking happier but this fellah.

Any ideas on what I can do to save it?

Is it getting to much light?
Also the nitrites may be the issue.
I doubt it is the light, it's right in the corner of my tank and has a bunch of hammers by it that are all pretty happy (including ones getting more light).

I'll retest everything today after last night's water change. Was just wondering if I should do anything for this little fellah in the meantime.

maybe inspect the hammer. I don't know if i'm seeing things, but it looks like there are snails on the hammer? Or are they feather worms?
If they are snails, i would worry if they are munching on the hammer.

Thanks for replying.

There are spirorbid worms on everything in my tank and there is one vermitid snail on it I noticed this morning.

Reckon I should scrape them off?

Some corals don't like the snails. I would clean off everything to help it recover. If you can keep your ph and alk balanced, water temps between 77 -79 should assist in recovery.

GL, I hope it recovers for you. If you have any soft corals, you can run carbon. just in case one of them isn't happy.

I would remove whatever vermatids are on it and maybe dose magnesium/ manganese

Good idea, I have a whole bunch of softies and I removed my carbon yesterday when I did a water changed and haven't swapped in more.

Will put some in.
