Hey all,
Had this tang for two years he's always been super healthy.
But noticed yesterday he had a little bit of what I can describe as mattered top fins.

Today it looks worse, have had no recent additions, the only thing I can think of is I have recently raised nitrate and dosed some silica and hydrogen peroxide. But this was about two weeks ago.

Tank size 120gal Daily water change equals about 40% change monthly.

This sort of localized issue would not be related to water quality, it is either an injury or an infection, or an infection after an injury.

Normally, I advise folks to just wait these sorts of things, they oft5en get better on their own, but in this case, it appeared suddenly and is getting worse.

Can you post a video of the fish?
Is it still eating?
Any ideas how it might have gotten injured?
Do you have a separate treatment tank available?

Jay

Also as you prepare answers, what other tank mates are in with fish and is all this rock life rock ( life rock which is purple tends to be sand textured and can scratch fish easily) as this fish tends to wedge itself into crevices for hiding.

Hey guys thanks for the reply.

He is eating as normal out and about regularly however he does like to wedge himself deep into the live rock.

I soaked food in focus and metroplex and feed to all fish last night.
I do have a seperate QT tank however he wouldn't be easy to catch.

I'll get a video of them swimming tonight

Tank mates are
Two spot tang
2 wrasse
2 anthias
Stripey
FOXFACE
Flame hawk
Sailfin tang
Fire fish
3x clown fish

Got home to take the video he had died during the day. Not sure what happened but it was fast hopefully isolated to the fish.
