Yesterday I noticed some spots on my mandarin. I came home from work today and he seemed off, lethargic and just sitting on the sand behind some rock. I have a tank I can set up as a hospital tank if this is something that needs treatment but I need help making sure I do the right thing.

I just am at a lose for words.. I am slowly watching him die. To put him in a new tank and stress him out will only probably do more damage but I fear I’ll wake up to a dead mandarin. HELP!!

I'm no expert by any means but I do recommend checking all your water parameters and salinity is okay. Perhaps some research on vitamin enrich foods for a natural healthy meal to help nourish back to health. I had a new fish had white dots for 3 days. By time I got everything to teat it. The dot vanished. It was possibly due to stress and now is living healthy but still shy. Wish the best for you. ✌️

Just seeing this - mandarins can get ich, and that’s what this looks like.

However, other fish are more prone to it- are there other fish in the tank? If so, they would also be showing spots.

Can you post a video? I’d like to check its respiration rate.

He’s breathing a little heavy. I checked on him after my lights went out and he’s not Camoed and is breathing heavy still. I have a twospot goby who has been in there for 6+ months and he doesn’t show any signs of being sick. I can get a video in the morning.
