Hey guys new here. I'll do a meet and greet after this post but anyways a naso tang came in half dead on wednesday. I didnt didnt him that day in qt because i was afraid any medication would stress him even more and kill him. Second day he was swimming around and now today he is back to going on his side and gasping pretty hard and he has a lot of discoloration. The medications i have on hand is paraguard, cupramine, prazipro, and metroplex. Freshwater dip almost immediately sent him into shock and had to move him back. Water params for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate are zero
Ph- 8.4
Salinity- 1.020

Any suggestions?

Let's see if we can get some help for this fish...

Unfortunately, it’s often too late when this happens.

If possible I would start off with a methylene blue bath - you should be able to get MB in LFS. It may help get him more o2.

Is the discoloration raised at all? Like spots?

Not raised. First day he came in his stomach was basically sunken in as far as it would go. It isnt like that now but he isnt eating obviously.

Pinched stomach is often a sign of advanced internal parasites.

It could also be velvet but I’m just not convinced that copper at this stage would help...although if the bicolor is showing no symptoms it probably isn’t.

@HotRocks?
@Big G?

Im 99% sure its not velvet most of the symptoms dont fit velvet. I was thinking that its gills were burned by ammonia because it was received late
