Trying to determine if possibly there is another cause beyond potential spinal injury with my C. Aurantidorsalis.

Ahh poor guy...did he get shipped in that way or did something happen to him??

He was fine, had been in QT about 2 weeks. This just started sometime today. My best guess is something startled him, and he jumped and hit the hard lid on the tank.
But that is pure speculation....

Bummer, it does appear to be a spinal injury.

Is your QT Just observational? Or medicated?

Prazi for sure, then based on what I see determines the next step.
My fish normally sit in QT for at least 6 weeks. They have to also be actively eating out of the water column, not be too skittish when I approach and a few other things.
If they aren't feeding out of the water column (waiting for the food to drop all the way down) they may starve in my DT; some very voracious eaters in there.

That sucks....I've had them hit hard enough to hear...but never seen any damage. Hope he can recover...

I'd go spinal injury as well.
