I have two polyps of purple hornets. I bought one, it grew to two but for the past week I have been seeing them go south. They really arent opening much anymore and the stalks look to be thinning out a bit. Does anybody have any advice on what I should I do? Revive, iodine, etc.?

Parameters are all in check, no other issues with the tank.

MIne did thios at one point. I did Furan2 dips (5 minutes) and Pro Coral Cure dips (5 minutes) over the course of a couple days. They rebounded perfectly and are happy again.

I have the furan, is the pcc basically iodine and what ratios did you use?

For the furan, i just make sure the water has a little yellow tint to it, Thats my ratio and i always just do a nice squirt of iodine.

Make sure its a pastel yellow and not straight yellow if you know what I mean.

I notice zoapox is a issue i have one of my babies closed up do to that so im being very cautious of treating!

Ive had luck with the furan before when treating zoapox, I dont see any pox on the hornets though but something is going on and maybe the furan will help.

Sounds like that's what I need to do with my Darth Mauls...they are looking a bit unhappy.

I used the Furan2 dip recommended by Brown for zoa pox, and it worked great!

Ya i wonder what the cause is. Same like aerius i had some purple dreams shriveled up and i was using a few treatments and still no recovery and melted away  they were awesome zoas!

Glad to hear. I am finding that irritated zoas and palys respond well to Furan 2 dips. If a zoa is not openeing for a couple days, Furan 2 here they come. I always follow up with a iodine dip after the furan 2.

Not to hijack...is there a liquid Furan2?? I have found the powder in pill form and found it very hard to get mixed in water.

All I have is the powder, I dont think there is a liquid.

I usually just use a syringe and stick it into their mouths and squirt some iodine in it. Ive saved a few zoas this way..including my Purple Hornets

I moved them to my frag tank and gave them furan then iodine dip. I plane on doing this over the next couple of day. They dont look covered in algae or anything so Im hoping to bring them back.

Just a quick FYI, I dipped my DMs and Capt America Paly last night in the Furan, then a quick PCC bath, and they look much better already today. Going to try another dip tomorrow.
