Sick Radiata Lionfish

Only dwarf we have here is the green lion.
Also I've read using freshwater food sources for a long term feed eventually ruins their kidneys or liver can't remember which one.
A side question, @Humblefish can brook uronema ect survive in freshwater?

Do you mean if you do a FW dip on an infected specimen? Sometimes it is enough to clear brook, but for uronema it only provides temporary relief IME. A 30-45 min formalin bath is much more effective, although I've also had good success treating brook with a 90 min acriflavine bath. After each dip/bath it's imperative to place the fish in a new/sterile QT to prevent reinfection.

It's just way too much trouble to deal with marine live, IMO. I hated having to feed out damsels, because it's rather limiting to have to do a full QT on lunch.

I used to blame ich outbreaks on live brine shrimp I got from a LFS back in the day. ;)

Brine is the dirtiest nastiest thing out there. They may be used as vessels to get good good things to our fish... but that also means they are quite efficient at "picking up" the bad things.

Well, it looks like I was wrong. I can only assume it's the spine that's growing within and not just the skin, because he can control its movement.

Wow! He's growing his spine back? Cool :)

Let's hope it's not pictures of a showdown. The radiata and sphex look a lot alike. If they are both males, it could be fight night in California tomorrow.

Eek! I'll hold out a good hope.

How did the introduction into the DT go Renee? Hope all is well

I'm still acclimating O.O

I had trouble with the display temp, so I had to address that first.

wow. he looks really good. I can't even tell where the damaged spine was. :)
