Sick Sinularia?

Hello everyone, I recently had this Sinularia shipped to me and I was wondering if this was normal. It’s peeling/sloughing off the green tissue located on the stalk/base of the leather.

Is this normal for these corals to do this?

If it’s sick, how can I help it?

I wouldn't say thats normal but then again the only soft corals I keep are mushrooms, so maybe it is?

With this drooping, Assure they have medium flow/good flow and that phosphate are not elevated. Your goniopora looks healthy suggesting water should be good. Elevate this to mid tank and see if it perks up. The base appears to be torn and may need to be placed where it can establish itself

As long as there isn't actual tissue coming off, this doesn't look too bad. A closer pic would help. I have a large toadstool leather and it does get algal film growing on the "stalk". Usually when leathers aren't doing well, they are retracted and don't have polyps out, and get floppy or droopy as said above. Yours has its polyps out, so I'm thinking it's fine (assuming it's normally that size).

They do periodically stay closed up for unspecified amounts of time (a day to a few days) to shed their waxy outer layer, which helps keep their tissue clear of stuff growing on it.

It’s not sounding promising… I’m glad that it at least has its polyps out. I do want to mention that some tissue is literally sloughing off, albeit the surface of its skin???

water params are good, all my other corals are doing great.

Is there enough flow? Leathers like good flow, they are not able to stand up straight if not enough flow to help them.

The tissue coming off might be its outer mucus layer which is normal, it needs good flow to help it shed.

Uhhh,,, I'm not as experienced as many on this site but will just echo the same sentiment that others have already said:
Make sure it's getting decent FLOW.

This seems to be a new one so could be other issues but looks like it's in the back corner of the tank so maybe move it somewhere else with better flow.

Update:

I moved the coral to a spot that gets higher flow, so I’m hoping it’ll recover.

It doesn't look bad to me. I would leave it right there. That toadstool and monti cap are happy so it should be happy there. This tank is down now but they all loved flow and light when I kept them.

hi everyone, here is just a little update on the coral:

the coral seems to be doing well. I decided to move it earlier today and I think it’s adapting well!!! I was super nervous about it, but it’s definitely powering through.

it’s so beautiful already, im excited to see it fully extended and happy

Glad it's doing better. I'm silly and didn't realize you meant the coral behind the toadstool at first. It's looking chunky
