Reef keeper lite?

I know this may sound like a dumb question but I just got a reef keeper lite. What the heck is a SId device, and what does it plug into. Thanks

The SID is the adaptor used to plug into your USB drive on your computer to execute firmware updates. You then connect the module that you wish to upgrade to the other end of the SID.
PC4 -> SID -> Computer
SL2 -> SID -> Computer
etc...
