How high of KH are you talking about?

Was at 15.

What caused it to get up that high? I've never heard of high alk stressing out fish but I guess if it got that high it's possible. Columnaris is more a fresh water thing correct? Regardless of the diagnosis I'd do some water changes to get parameters back in line.

My normal maintenance is this weekend, so I'll be doing my water change.

The cotton mouth look was gone this morning and he is actively eating. Weird.

probably just a slight bacterial infection, they can clear up on their own. Had a kole tang with one that looked awful, and it cleared up on its own.
