Unfortunately I have a very narrow overflow chamber with a single standpipe. It's how I bought the tank and sump a year ago. Lately I've been eliminating tank noise and the only thing left is the overflow noise.
Both where the water enters the pipe in the tank and exits in the sump creates a lot of noise. Gurgling on top (or water falling in the pipe) and massive amounts of air being dumped in the sump or something. I do not get a nice flow of water exiting the pipe either, seems like it's mostly air.
My question to you good folks: how can I (greatly) reduce the noise without making something like a durso pipe? I have about 1.7'' space around the standpipe.

Is that simply combined gallons/hour of all powerheads and return?
