I have just set up my first reef tank (300 litres + sump ~100 litres). I have Tunze DOC 9410 skimmer (https://www.marinedepot.com/Tunze_M...r_Aquariums_Reefs-Tunze-TZ5340-FIPSIS-vi.html). The problem for me is the noise it's making. Especially the buzz of the motor and the resonance its causing are annoying, and I hope that a less efficient skimmer would be better. Anyway I think it's a little overkill because it's designed for aquariums up to 1000 litres, and I had to minimise the air flow to prevent it from overfoaming. Also the coffee maker noise disturbs me, and I think I have seen a skimmer that wasn't this loud. So, what is the most silent skimmer for a 300 litre aquarium? All recommendations are welcome.
