Silicon level .274 on ICP test

Any reason as to why this would be so high?
I am using Siporax as a media.
350 gal tank volume. I'll add the rest of the test results in additional post.

Silicate is very hard to remove from water. I’m running a 5 stage RODI and even with new DI resin I still test at about 200 ug/l.
Do you use RODI water?

Edit- I recently purchased an additional DI resin reactor to add to my system to get more Si out of the water.

Yes I use rodi.
I run it thru a 3 sediment, 1 chloramines monster, 6 carbon, 2 cation, 2 anion, and 2 di resin. Using a 150 gal water saver rodi unit.

I’d consider testing your source water if you haven’t already. The only company I know is that does it without the extra charge is ATI.
Maybe start there.
Also- fluidized Rowaphos removes Si.

Fluidized Rowa, you say? My recent ICP says I need to address my RODI and take some Si out of my tank, so I'll be looking into this.

ATI will test your tank water as well as your RODI with one kit, as opposed to others that will require you to purchase two kits to get the same test done. I too had elevated Si and will be rectifying the issue with another DI canister. And yes, sticking some Rowaphos in a reactor will most definitely alleviate a lot of your Si issues.

I just got my ICP test back today and also had elevated levels of silicon. It's at .862 and was wondering what could be contributing to it. Guess I'll also do a test on the tap water. I'm running 1 sediment, 2 carbon and two DI resin.

Unless you have a diatom problem, there is no problem with elevated Si.

Is this a new system? I ask because my fish only system consumes 0.2 ppm SiO2/day.

I think I recall si being good for sponge growth which are good to have.

That doesn't sound like diatoms,. They are using hard and golden brown.

Reduce the input of silicate (if any). It can be very high in tap water, and gets through RO/DI if you are not careful. GFO can bind it.
