silicone baking mats to raise skimmer height?

Would something like this be safe sitting in saltwater 24/7, under my skimmer?

Might be ok, but might be expensive to raise the height with those, many use eggcrate from hardware store or some vendors sell acrylic stands

Eggcrate is a good suggestion, thanks. What’s the best way to cut it? Scroll saw, band saw maybe? Or would tin snips work?

I use wire cutters. Really easy. My sump was way too deep for my skimmer so I built a PVC frame with egg crate zip tied to the top. Been going for 9 years now.

I think the easiest is a jigsaw but even flat nose pliers or wire cutters as mentioned can do the job, just a bit more annoying if you have to cut 4 or 5 plates out
