Does silicon have any type of bond with wood?

No wood cannot be bonded with silicone. However if wood has certain epoxy coatings applied silicone will bond to the epoxy. What were you trying to accomplish with bonding wood with silicone?

No I built an external overflow across the entire length of a 40B. Just looking to add extra support under the box.

I forgot that I built the stand with a lil lip on the back side. So I can still wedge wood there as a support without the need to glue it in place.

I don't have any on hand. The wood should do the trick because of the ledge I have on back of stand. Plus I can stain it to match the stand and it'll conceal the plumbing

run the wood all the way to the floor.. wood brace underneath the overflow. two 2 X 4's on each corner.. match the stand color your good.. I am assuming this is on the back.. only issue would be your stand would need to come out a few more inches to compensate for the additional depth.

No need to run it all the way to the floor. There's enough room on the back of the stand for me to wedge support between the bottom of the overflow and the top of the stand where the tank sits.
