My nitrogen cycle is almost done, but since I can’t make a day’s worth of progress without a week and a half’s worth of setbacks, I noticed the seam on the overflow beginning to peel away. The seams that hold the tank itself together are fine. Should I be worried about this and if so, is there any way to fix it that doesn’t involve draining the entire tank, removing the sand, and completely resealing it?

Well… if you ever need to just drain your overflow it could pose an issue if water is leaking in. You might be able to drain enough to re-silicone the affected areas, but the silicone and glass experts will probably weigh-in.

My main concern is I live in the California Bay Area and we get lots of brown/blackouts, and my sump isn’t equipped to hold all the water that would drain into it if the seam was broken.
