I've come across what appear to be silicone straight reducers, which would be handy to use with various connections in the sump, and my main reason is to use to connect a powerhead to a sponge filter for my quarantine tank. The reason I think they are silicone straight reducers is because that is the closest thing I can find... used in the auto industry for non-petroleum based uses. I've attached pics.

They feel somewhat spongy and feel like they are covered with a fine powder, though there is no residue left on your hands (I think they just feel this way). I would like to know if reef-safe.

The powdery feeling might just be me. I've felt that with different types of rubber including some gaskets and different things. I'll wash in some warm water with Dawn just in case.
